MSU and the science festival have offered a great opportunity for undergraduate students to present their research starting Friday, April 12.  Each undergraduate spotlight will feature one of these students and their research, so that they can be recognized not only for their hard work,  but also for facing the daunting task of having to present that research to an audience.  So stay tuned!

Due to our incredibly rainy spring weather, the Lansing State Journal Expo Tent has been moved to a new area that is not in danger of becoming a lake.  It can now be found at Benefactor's Plaza, which is the old part of campus between the Old Horticulture, Natural Science, and Student Services buildings.  Hopefully the rain will clear up and you can check out the neat buildings of MSU's original campus!

Science articles driving you crazy with lingo that sounds like it belongs on an episode of Star Trek?  Look no further for a solution!  A collection of MSU writing professors and scientists will be hosting a workshop to teach attendees how to scan a science article for pertinent information.  Implementing strategies to find an article that interests them, attendees will have a chance to work one-on-one with a mentor to perfect their science reading skills.  So whether you're concerned about water quality in your neighborhood, or a student preparing for a final science paper, come and learn with us!  DECODING SCIENCE: How to Read a Scientific Article Even if You're Not a Scientist will be on April 21, at 11 am

Impression 5 has issued a science challenge for families of all ages!  A hands on experiment from their Science Studio, families are tasked with designing and building their own marble ramps in the hopes of beating the best time.  All supplies are provided, and participants are encouraged to be as creative as they want as they engage both their critical thinking and problem solving skills.  So come on down to the expo tent on April 20 from 12-3 pm and see if you can beat the marble challenge!
